漢語中反話正說如何譯成英文？

　　反話正說指翻譯過程中用肯定形式來表達原文否定意義的詞或句子。英語中有很 多表示否定和半否定含義的詞語，因此翻譯公司譯員在翻譯過程中，經?？梢允褂眠@些詞語來反譯 漢語的否定句。例如：
　　a.學外語遠非你想象的那般輕松。It is far from, easy to leam a foreign language as you imagine.
　　b.你是我最不想見的人。You are the last person, I want to see.
　　c.不好意思，您可以再說一*遍嗎？我剛剛沒有記下來。Excuse me，would youplease say it again? I failed to write it down just now.
　　d.他承認他和他父母之間溝通與交流還不夠。He admitted there was a lack of un?derstanding and communication between his parents and him.

　　從以上例子可以看出，為了在保持原文內容不變，而譯文更符合目的語讀者的思 維習慣，在翻譯時，原文的否定意義均用含有否定或半否定語氣的詞語表達。常用的 有：
　　(1)動詞：fail, miss, lack, ignore，refuse，deny，overlook 等。
　　(2)名詞：absence，failure, ignorance 等。
　　(3)形容詞及形容詞短語：few, little, free from, far from, safe from，short of 等。
　　(4)副詞和副詞短語：little，otherwise, too... to 籌。
　　(5)連詞：unless, before, until, ( rather) than，or 等0(6)介詞和介詞短語：without, above，except，beyond，instead of, out of 等〇還有一些含有半否定語氣的詞。如seldom，barely, hardly，scarcely，rarely等。
　　此外，為了達到一定的修辭效果，或者使語氣更委婉，也可采用反話正說的翻譯法。
　　a.俗話說，“男兒有淚不輕彈，皆因未到傷心處”。As the old saying goes, men, only weep when deeply hurt.
　　此句譯文簡潔對稱，就是為了再現漢語原文的蘊意，達到較好的修辭效果，如果 將之譯成 “Men never weep，because they do not feel so sad. ” 則會索然無味。
　　b.奶奶昨天不在了。My grandma kicked the bucket yesterday.
　　漢語原文中用“不在了”委婉表達“死”的含義，對應英語譯文若直接用die， 與原文風格保持不一致，故選用kick the bucket更合適一些。

　　當然，在通常情況下，漢語句子英譯時，有時可以翻譯成英語的否定形式，也可 以譯成英語的肯定形式。具體選擇什么樣的形式，還是要根據上下文的具體語境。例 如：
　　a.他仍然沒有弄懂我的意思。He still could not understand me.
　　He still failed to understand me.
　　b.書架上的那本書我拿不到。I cannot reach the book on the shelf.
　　The book on the shelf is out of my reach.
